#26: Why The Fear Of Taking Risks Is Holding You Back In Life

Not taking risk is holding you back.

Its something I avoided for a long time.It seemed like all risks were scary and ended badly.

When I was young they seemed like the thing to do. Take a risk and maybe it will pay off.

But they often didn’t.

They would cause a lot of grief and pain.   And I became gun shy.

I started to think that I would rather feel safe and secure than take a risk.

Then I wouldn't have to deal with the failures and the loss that risk brought.

And it was a much safer way to live.

Until I wanted to change my life.

Because once you start hoping for a better tomorrow, you need to step out of your comfort zone, and not taking risks is what is holding you back.

And that involves taking some risk.

So after putting some thought into risk and what it means I found a new appreciation for it.

Even a small risk adds excitement to life.

It elicits hope.

It shows you how much you care.

And you find out what really matters.

After exploring risk and the fear around it, I learned 5 ways to mitigate the fear and how to give youself the best odds for success possible.

That's what we are discussing in this episode

Tune in to hear:

  • Why risk causes us to freak out and what to do about it
  • The bad emotional habit people have (that they don't even realize is a habit) and how it is affecting your life
