The more you dig, the more you will find that all of our major fears are rooted in loss, less, and never (thank you Tony Robbins).
Simply knowing this brings you power. Tony says that to reverse that fear it helps to turn it into gratitude. Gratitude turns what you have into enough which lessons the grip of the fear.
I like to analyze the fear and then challenge its existence.
Why are we so afraid to lose something, what do we think we will truly lose?
I’ve asked it about death, divorce, children, money, security, pets, and family. There have been times in my life I’ve been faced with losing or have lost each of these things. It always feels permanent at the time.
But I’ve discovered that we never really lose and nothing is forever. The people who are meant to be in your life will always remain (whether you want them to or not), and when someone does leave. the space they held opens up for new experience, new life, and new people… all of which bring new lessons, new understanding, and usually better choices.
If you look at the big picture and see the cycle, it helps you understand that “loss, less, and never” are simply stories we tell about what’s happening in the moment, and are always temporary.
The truth is you are always ok. You can always rebuild (which gives you a chance to make things better), you will always be loved (especially if you love yourself), and the empty space can always be filled.
You just have to keep moving forward so that you can allow it.
