I started on my personal growth journey because I thought I was broken.
My life didn’t feel right and I thought I was the problem. I was sure there was something wrong with me and it needed to be fixed.
This is what the world tells you isn’t it?
If you smell it’s because you haven’t showered.
If you’re fat it’s because you’re lazy and eat junk.
And the one that kept getting me was “you don’t solve money problems with money. You need to figure out what your problem is.”
I have learned a lot on this relentless journey to fix myself.
I did learn to tell myself I wasn’t broken and I didn’t need to be fixed. But I never found a replacement for that belief that worked.
If you go back and read my blogs you will find lots of talk about “healing”.
I did feel like I was healing. Thing that used to bring me emotional pain didn’t feel painful anymore.
When the pain goes away, it feels like it’s been healed.
People talk about healing your inner child – and how we all need to heal because we all had a childhood.
But that was conflicting with my new belief I was adopting, the one that said I was not broken.
Recently, like in the last year, I had a massive shift in my thinking. It happened slowly with one little piece falling into place and then the next.
And I finally asked myself this question…
“What if “healing” isn’t actually what we are doing?”
We feel like we are healing but what is actually happening is that we are removing toxic beliefs and old conditioning.
We bring old beliefs and thought patterns forward from our parents. We adopt them when we are going because we are learning to walk and talk and read and write.
We don’t have time to work on thoughts and beliefs because we are just learning how to be humans.
But as those beliefs and thoughts become outdated and aren’t working for us anymore, we need to go back and question them.
We need to undo them and create new ones that will work for us in order for us to see what we are really capable of and to become the best version of ourselves.
We are not broken.
We are not healing.
We are evolving.
This is what evolution looks like.
This is what evolution feels like.
And we can deliberately and consciously evolve in order for it to happen quicker and faster.
At this point the best thing you can do for yourself is to start examining the ways you have been conditioned to believe what you believe.
And then stop believing yourself.
You are not broken, you are amidst an evolution.
