It takes me way too long to adjust to major life changes.

After each baby it took me a solid year to get my bearings back and adjust to having en extra person tag along with me.

I was envious of the moms who could pop a baby out and be back to life in 3 days…or even 3 months.

Adjusting to being on my own took even longer.  Which is still a mystery to me, because I was always kind of on my own anyway… I think we all are, even when we are in a partnership.

There did come a point where I said to myself, I am still unfulfilled…what do I have to do?

And I began to search for the information to help me.  I let myself be led by google, and then by what interested me.

I almost spent $3000 on an online course last year, but when I emailed the guy he replied in a terribly condescending way…that turned me off and moved me in another direction.

Fulfillment comes from doing what feels right.

Books are full of people’s ideas and the cheapest education available.

The internet is chock full of extraordinary people talking and teaching about “how they did it”.

Podcasts.  There is an infinite number of podcasts on an infinite number of subjects.  My favourites are the interviews.   Everyone has earned wisdom in their life, and a great interviewer can pull it out of anyone.   There is so much to learn from people’s stories.

Seth Godin.

I learned that the path is never clear.   You create it and it reveals itself to you as you go.

But you have to go forward or there will never be a path at all.

One of Stephen Coveys 7 habits is to begin with the end in mind.

Choose your biggest priority for right now.

Do you want to be rich?   Do you want to be famous?   Do you want to be fulfilled?   Do you want to be happy?   Do you want to be healthy?

Research that.   Find the experts.   Listen to them.

Then I start small so as not to overwhelm myself but I also keep moving to the edge of my comfort zone.  Because that’s where the magic happens.

And before I knew it, I had created a whole new fulfilling part of my life.
