I used to worry about being selfish.
In hindsight I’m not even sure why it was such a driving force for me, I think it was probably because I never thought I was good enough.
You can’t make others happy if you’re selfish, and people pleasing is a tough habit to break.
I finally realized that the fact I was even worried about being selfish in the first place was a good sign I probably wasn’t.
In the end though, I learned that being selfish doesn’t define you as a person.
It’s good to be generous, but nobody can be generous all of the time.
Life is always an ebb and flow. If you are doing the best that you can, that’s all that really matters.
