Our scarcity driven culture has created a lot of drama around time that isn’t necessary.
We have created a belief that there is a limited amount of time, and yet it is one of the very few things that just keeps going long after we are gone.
Time goes on forever.
When I put the pressure of time on myself, it’s ugly. I would go into full on Hulk mode over not having enough time – and it’s ridiculous. It causes me to be scattered and unproductive, and it is downright scary for the people who are around me.
We panic about not having enough time when we aren’t taking full responsibility for our time. But if you just move forward, you will see there is more than enough time to do what we need to do.
The only people who really need to panic about not having enough time are the ones who are dismantling a bomb with 5 seconds left – like they do in the movies… but did you ever notice they aren’t panicking about time? They are just getting down to work.
May we all live our lives like the bomb dismantlers in the movies – super productive and freakishly calm and confident in our ability to deliver
