A few years ago a friend of mine shared an audible talk that Brene Brown had done.

She talks about subjects that most other people don’t. Vulnerability and shame, and the way we “armour up” when we are faced with a less than ideal situation.

If you ever get the chance to listen to her talk, don’t miss it. She’s real, and she’s funny.

Her stories are super entertaining, so unless you are really paying attention, you don’t even know how she’s making you laugh. She’s just dang funny.

But if you listen a little closer, you will see that she’s poking fun at her humanity, the times she over reacts, takes life too seriously, or goes into auto pilot.

One of her stories was how she spilled red wine on her girlfriends white rug, and how her knee jerk reaction was that her friend was stupid for putting white rugs in her house.

This is a hidden gem you can really learn from her. Find humour in life, but especially find it within yourself.

It feels good to not believe everything you think or feel… but it feels even better to see how ridiculous we can be.

Laugh at yourself, laugh at the random nature of life, and laugh at each other. It really makes it all so much better.
