James Clear wrote the book Atomic Habits, but he also writes some really great articles and archives them on his site.
Recently I read one that was about first principle thinking, (read it here) which is basically breaking something down to the smallest component.
How does this apply to you?
The smallest component is where you have total clarity about your thoughts and decisions.
It’s deciding what matters most to you.
It’s determining your core values.
It’s figuring out what it is you want.
It’s boiling down what it is you are trying to say.
It’s defining what success would look like in one particular area.
All of these smallest components take the monster that is in your brain and making you spin, and breaking it down until you have clarity.
And once you have that kind of clarity, then you can move forward with confidence.
