When you aren’t practicing mindfulness and staying present you become careless and sloppy.

Mindfulness and presence require focus. And that takes effort.

I’ve had my plate really full and I’ve been working hard learning some new skills.

I have mostly been operating at half mast trying to power through, and it’s starting to catch up with me.

I haven’t remained mindful and present with the things that are really important to me, and those things have fallen into the careless and sloppy category.

I’ve only been half “there”.

I haven’t been seeing people the way I like to.

I haven’t been as careful with my words as I try to be.

I haven’t slowed down and taken the time to listen to my inner wisdom the way I should.

In return I’m not cultivating trust and intrinsic motivation in the people around me. Things are starting to fray.

I’ve learned to listen to the edges fraying, and I treat it as a wake up call.

When we don’t pay attention to them, they get bigger and bigger.. until we have a catastrophe.

No thanks Mr. Catastrophe. You’re not going to knock on my door today (*fingers crossed, and hoping*).

I am going back to the basics.

Slow down. Listen. Breathe. Think. And become present.
