Not that long ago I was talking with an old friend, and in that conversation he said something about me having my life together.
That’s laughable at best… there isn’t much “together”… but to be fair, I am constantly gathering up pieces… so if you caught a glimpse at the right second it might appear together… but it’s so fleeting.
I feel that way when I look at others too.
I see some people from the outside and think… you have your own business, you have a nice family, own your own house, a few cars… looks all grown up to me. Independent in every way that they should have some freedom.
But then I catch another glimpse where they don’t have agency over their life. They aren’t able to take steps they want to take because they are trapped. They can’t see the forest for the trees.
I think this is a classic example of how important it is to have the inside right before the outside falls into place.
Lots of times the “outside” is set up perfectly fine… but we can’t see it because we are trapped by childhood patterns playing inside ourselves, waiting for someone else’s permission or approval before we can be who we want to be.
What does it take to flick the switch?
What would it take for you to have full control over your life regardless of someone else’s approval
