Early this morning I made a mistake.
I know I have to be very careful in the mornings or my inspiration for writing doesn’t happen, but lately words have been coming so easily and out of nowhere… I expected the same thing today.
My wifi wasn’t working last night and there was a money management video I had been wanting to watch that I couldn’t, so I woke up and watched it first thing this morning before I started writing.
While I thought the video was ok (this is it here), it completely halted my creative juices.
Although I have always been extremely protective about my mornings, I never used to have a routine… but my daily writing has forced me to pay closer attention.
Creative energy is so fragile… it only flows through a place of non distracted focus.
If I allow my mind to wander down a rabbit hole of worries, or to-do lists before I write I’m usually stuck for the next hour or more, just staring at a blank page.
That’s what happened this morning.
Blank pageitis… and a humbling lesson in protecting my energy.
On the bright side, as I’m building my online course, I’ve got some ideas rolling around for a new project…stay tuned for that.
