I was listening to an interview with Glennon Doyle Melton… She said the name Glennon means valley. She laughed and said that was so ironic as she has hit rock bottom so many times.
Then she told the story of when she met a lady who told her that the valley is amazing.
She said, (I’m paraphrasing) “if you are on the top peak of a mountain, the air is thin, it’s rocky and wobbly, but down in valley, that’s where the water runs. That’s where all of the power is.”
I loved this analogy so much.
We are afraid of being in the valley of life, of not constantly meeting the high standard society expects from us.
The valley has the lush green grass, the animals and the water.
The valley is where we find our foundation, our truth and our power.
