It is important to know our limits. What are we willing to accept in our lives, and when has it gone too far.
If someone asked you to jump off a cliff, would you? Likely not. That is a limit and you won’t go that far.
But how far will you go? It’s worth thinking about, especially right now.
If we don’t define what we are willing to accept in our lives, we let it go too far. And when things have gone too far, there is a point where we won’t be able to return to normal.
I asked a question on Instagram a couple of days ago that said, “does a normal that we can return to even exist anymore?”
76% of the people who answered said no it does not exist anymore.
This is interesting to me because we are accepting our new reality like this is our only choice. But is it?
The most concerning part of what is happening right now is that the people have so easily given up our freedom… and there are no promises of getting it back.
Are we just simply hoping that the government will give our freedom back if we are good girls and boys?
Have we been so conditioned to do as we are told that we think if we follow the rules then the rules will change?
It seems to me that we have become apathetic and arrogant about our freedom and we haven’t stopped to consider how easily our freedom could be taken from us completely.
We have surrendered our freedom.
We have not been given timelines and there isn’t any transparency as to what the plan is, just promises that we will “get through this together”.
In a short 3 weeks the government has shut down our freedom to go to the park, to run our own businesses, to visit places of worship, to travel, and to visit our doctors of alternative medicine. And there is all sorts of public shaming going on if you don’t abide by it.
We are living the way we might live if we were under a dictatorship. If someone like Hitler was in power we would be in trouble right now… and yet here we are.
On twitter I see people begging the government to lock us down more. To take away every ounce of freedom we might have left.
I can’t help but wonder why our freedom doesn’t mean more to us than this?
Are we just joking on Remembrance Day when we thank the veterans for our freedom?
We are being asked to stay home to save the lives of the very demographic of people who went to war and fought for our freedom. Isn’t it ironic?
Just for today it might be a good idea to have some conversations about freedom and what it means to you.
Where will you draw the line?
