Just for today ask someone for help.
Our culture is built around independence, from the time we are babies we are expected to learn how to sleep on our own. Soon we are expected to study alone, and we are commended when we can live on our own.
Let’s try to break that paradigm.
We need each other.
We long for connection, but we resist being vulnerable.
Just for today ask someone for help. Even if you don’t necessarily need it.
You don’t have to do everything on your own, and if you ask for help it’s likely you’ll enjoy the connection it brings more than the isolation of independence.
