The whole teach a man to fish theory is pretty solid.

The key is to get him enrolled in the journey of fishing, and wanting to learn.

The easiest way to get him enrolled is to leave him to his own resources until he’s hungry enough.

However if he doesn’t know that catching a fish and cooking it will solve his hunger problem; then he’s not going to seek this solution.

As a leader/parent you are can and should be demonstrating what’s possible to the people around you.

Once they see you doing the thing, they will start to ask questions. Each question is an opportunity to build trust and enrolment.

Just for today… when you find yourself tired of doing things for others, think about how you might be a beacon of light for them.

Instead of doing it for them, let them be inspired by what you’re doing.

It’s far more effective.
