Just for today let’s make an emergency plan for stressful situations.

I’ve noticed lately that when stress hits, I lose all of the things I already know to do, or that I’m normally doing mindfully.

Stress can make our heads spin, and our minds work overtime to figure it all out. It puts us into tunnel vision and we lose track of everything else.

So let’s stop for a minute on this Monday morning, before life takes over and make a conscious plan of how to keep the stress at bay.

What is the best choice for you?

Is it stopping for 2 minutes and making a gratitude list?

Is it getting up and going for a walk and listening to the birds chirp?

Is it closing your eyes, expanding your awareness, and breathing deeply?

Is it phoning a friend and cultivating connection or a sense of belonging?

Whatever it is, just for today, let’s make a plan so that stress doesn’t consume us when it starts to show up.
