Just for today let’s focus on what we want.

Asking for what your heart needs is super uncomfortable because it brings up the fear of rejection.

I’ve struggled with this for years.

It’s a lot easier to sit back and expect others to “just know” and then be angry when they don’t have a clue.

In order to have healthy relationships we need to be in touch with what we truly want, and then be able to say it out loud.

This takes conscious effort.

It was a whole new way of thinking for me and it took time to turn it around.

It’s so easy to focus on and gripe about what we don’t want, but it’s quite a different thing to figure out and then verbalize what we do want, and it’s even harder when we feel hurt or let down by someone else.

Just for today let’s ask for something we want that we’ve been denying admitting to ourselves.

Maybe it’s a different position at work, maybe it’s support from a loved one, maybe it’s a dream you are afraid to voice.

Whatever it is, let’s admit it to ourselves.
