Just for today let’s remember to breathe.
So of ten when life gets tough and we start to white knuckle our way through, we forget to keep breathing.
Because our culture rewards us for being stoic and stifling strong emotions. Girls and women are supposed to be sweet and not get angry. Boys and men are not “supposed” to cry. When we stifle our emotion, we hold our breath.
Deep breathing slows the heartbeat, and helps our bodies to relax, and calms anxiety.
Just for today, let’s remember to keep taking big deep breaths.
