There aren’t many things we have control over in life.
Other people have agency to act as they please and situations will take on a life of their own.
When we try to control something we suffocate it.
We can go further faster if we allow and encourage growth rather than micro manage it. We will make ourselves crazy and come up against a lot of resistance by forcing outcomes.
We do have control over what we will accept and what we won’t.
We also have control over the way we react and respond to what’s happening.
By tuning into our own values and priorities, we can create boundaries around what’s important and what matters to us and our mission, and then allow things to unfold the way they want to within those limits.
Just for today let’s trust the process. Let’s not control all of the people and moving parts. Let’s be clear on our limits and boundaries and allow the path to open up and show us the way.
And just for today when you feel like you want to take control by fixing something or someone that makes you nervous, stop and ask yourself if you need to.
Sometimes it’s better to allow things to fall apart, so it can be rebuilt in a new way that has everyone engaged and on board.
