I’ve mentioned a couple of times this week that it’s been a tough one. I’ve had to set boundaries, make some hard decisions, and wash my hands of a situation that had gone sour a while ago. It was a business relationship, but there isn’t anything in my life that is ever “just business”.
I’ve stopped multiple times this week to assess how I’m doing (am I the only person who does this?) and decided I haven’t died yet so I must be good, but there have been lots moments that were handled by other people who are champs and other people waiting in the wings in case I needed them. How blessed am I?
I just want to mention how important it is to have great people around you.
I’ve learned this the hard way, and I’m still learning it… you have to care enough about everything to weed out the jerks so you can make room for more good people, and have the energy to look after them too.
Good people never leave you alone, they make sure they are by your side or that someone else is. They give you extra strength to do hard things.
I didn’t notice many magical moments this week, but there was one in particular that made itself stand out to me.
Yesterday, right at a moment when I was feeling sick to my stomach, someone walked up to me and handed me a wallet sized picture that I had lost more than 10 years ago. It was a picture of my Grandmother who passed away in 2003, with her handwriting on the back.
It is always a treat when your angels find a way to interrupt you, tell you they are with you, and put a shot of love in your heart right when it needs it the most.
That was magical.
Let’s keep life sweet by believing in all things mystical and magical.
“Oh, I believe there are Angels Among Us,
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love.
They wear so many faces,
Show up in the strangest places
And grace us with their mercies in our time of need.”
