Mom held a Josh Nichol horse clinic 13 years ago and let me take it with her.
Josh talked about our energy center, and connecting with the horses through it.
This is how horses communicate, and we were learning their language.
He taught us about our own bubble of energy and how to feel it by walking circles around each others bubbles.
This was huge. I don’t think it was just big for me, as I have seen many people moved to tears while learning from Josh.
Connecting with a piece so deep inside and including a horse in the mix as the teacher, is one of the most unforgettable experiences.
Learning this side of horsemanship was like learning to eat all over again with chopsticks.
And it also changed my life.
Understanding my energy center has been a powerful personal tool for me ever since.
I realized my bubble would expand and shrink like crazy with my emotions.
Then I started to learn how to shrink and enlarge my bubble on purpose from a neutral emotional space … which was teaching me how to control my emotions.
I started to notice I was not keeping my energy centered inside me, but shooting it out my head, or hand, or chest…sometimes it felt like I was walking around behind it.
I understand now that the more I keep my energy centered, the more grounded I am and the more I stand in my personal power.
Learning all of this sent my life on a completely new trajectory.
Over the years I have started to understand better how energy works and feels.
I am able to connect with people differently.
As I have connected with myself, my intuition is easier to access and I am more emotionally stable.
It is a continuous lifelong learning journey, but has become by far one of the most important foundational skills I have.
