Anyone who talks to me about music lately, has had to listen to Everybody is free to Wear Sunscreen by Baz Lurhmann.
We don’t discuss music very much on here, but now you will get a chance to listen to the song as well.
It’s from the 90s, but it has some timeless advice in it.
Speaking of advice, here is a line from the song…
Be careful whose advice you buy, but
be patient with those who supply it
Advice is a form of nostalgia
dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off
painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth
I wondered if wisdom could be interchanged for advice in this line.
I think it can except for the line that says advice is “painting over the ugly parts”. Wisdom is when we use the ugly parts to learn something in hopes that we can do better next time.
Enjoy the song.
