A “good kid” asks for permission.
“Can I have a lollipop?”
A respectful adult also asks for permission.
“Can I have a moment of your time?”
Sometimes as we grow into adults, we don’t learn to discern between the things we need to ask permission for and the things we don’t.
It took me a long time to figure out that I don’t need to have someone else’s permission to live life my way, I only need permission from others when I’m asking something of them.
