The energy that goes into starting something is very different from the energy used to finish up or maintain.
It’s so important to take a moment and reward yourself with your progress you’re making.
I had a big lesson in this not so long ago.
I had so much rattling around inside of me, I couldn’t figure out the next step so I sat down and listed everything I wanted in my life.
It included who I wanted to be, what I wanted to do, my goals, and what I was wanting to accomplish.
I was stuck and overwhelmed and working so hard trying to do it all.
When I finished writing it all down, I sent it to a friend who had been supporting and encouraging me to keep moving forward.
He generously took the time to go through my list and point out the things that I already “was”.
His reframe shook me up.
He took my list of wants and turned it into a To-do list of sorts.
He put the items I had already completed into a list, the things I was working on into a in-progress list, and the things I was dreaming about into a pending list.
I hadn’t stopped long enough to notice the parts I had started didn’t require the same energy anymore.
I was still trying to start an engine that was already running.
The power of knowing who you are and where you’re at is huge.
If you can’t see it for yourself, ask for help.
Sometimes another persons view is all you need to sort it out and get moving forward again.
