We get so busy growing up that we forget how to play.
We start to create a story in our head of what we expect things to look like, and then we get so wrapped up in those expectations that we swirl around in the same stuff trying to make everything look the way we think it should.
Expectations are deadly. They are filled with assumptions and fraught with fear and disappointment.
The alternative is to be brave enough to play in spaces where we don’t know what to expect. We increase our odds of happiness, because we dance with the fear and remove the possibility of disappointment.
I would rather play and dance any day than struggle with trying to force life to be what I think it should be.
“Let’s do this and see what happens” is a much more playful and creative space to live in.
