It’s Thanksgiving in Canada.
There aren’t many people who need to be reminded to be grateful this weekend – although off the top of my head I can think of a few who could use the reminder but I’m quite sure they won’t be reading today’s blog.
Facebook will be filled with posts of peoples gratitude lists. I wish it was thanksgiving everyday. We can become so tunnel visioned with our first world problems that we don’t see what already belongs to us and how fortunate we are. Our lives are full and we so easily forget when things are hard.
We live in a scarcity based culture and gratitude turns what we have into enough. Today most people will remember and celebrate how lucky they are, and I will definitely be one of them.
I’m thankful I live in Canada, I’m grateful for my family, my animals, and my friends. I’m grateful for the work I get to do, the experiences I get to have, and I’m grateful for the journey I’m on, it’s helped me to become more of myself than I’ve ever been before.
I’m grateful I have people to love and I’m so very thankful that I am loved in return.
I’ve got a monster turkey to prepare because today we join with friends and family to feast. I enjoy that so much, the children get excited to come together for “special occasion” food. It’s a tradition that matters to them.
Please share your gratitude list, it makes this holiday magical.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
