An object in motion will stay in motion.
Remember this law?
It is the reason you always want to be moving forward.
Once you stop moving forward, you get stuck, and it’s very hard to get going again.
Stagnancy will put you into a funk. You will feel depressed, and lethargy will creep in. You won’t even feel like doing anything. And the less you do, the less you will want to do.
It takes a lot of energy to move forward from a stand still.
Think of yourself like pushing a car. It takes so much energy to get the car rolling, but once it’s rolling it doesn’t take a lot of effort to keep it moving, just a little push here and there so that it doesn’t stop.
You are the same.
When you feel yourself slowing down, you need to give yourself a little push to get going again before you come to a stop.
Ideally you have made goals and planned your direction and can keep plugging away at that. (This is the prime goal setting time of year).
Those goals will help you when you’re losing momentum because it only takes a minute to figure out what the next step forward willl be when you have a goal.
But if you aren’t a goal setter (first off… why?) then just do something. Start a project, a course, or a new hobby. Do something you’ve been doing for years, or something you haven’t done in years.
The key is to keep moving forward and staying in motion. You’ll be surprised at how much you will inspire others just by moving forward.
