Struggle Doesn’t Take A Break On The Holidays

Holidays seem to make the imminent struggle harder, not easier.

The alcoholic still drinks, and usually more.

The cancer diagnosis is still real.

The babies in heaven don’t come back, and neither do the mommies or daddies.

The single people are still single.  The struggling marriage still struggles.

The distant and alienated loved ones don’t reconnect.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everything is to be perfect on the holidays?

Maybe if we are lucky, we can still find the miracles amidst the mess.   Even tangled up Christmas lights can still shine.

Maybe the only miracle will be that we make it through.

Either way, I wish you all of the best.
