The good times and the bad times

by jodi // May 10

I used to see people go through hard times.

I believed that we all came here with lessons to learn.

That’s how I understood death. When you’re lessons had been completed, you checked out… it helped me make sense of why the good die young.

Except the good don’t always die young. There are some really great people who stick around for a lot longer than most, and some really mean and abusive people who die young.

Eventually I figured out that we are on a journey.

We have good times and bad times. We have moments where everything clicks together and works easily, and sometimes we have long periods of time where we struggle to find 2 pieces of the puzzle that fit together.

Almost every time my life has been hard, it’s because I was getting in my own way of accepting what’s happened, of adopting a new worldview or lens, or because I was stuck in an unhealthy belief or pattern.

Every lesson you encounter is teaching you how to get out of your own way.

Becoming stuck on our own agendas or the way we think life should be only holds us back.

We are here to uncover our self worth, to deeply learn about and operate from about love and compassion, to contribute to each other and society, and to make the world a better place.

How do I know?

Because everyone’s light shines brighter when they are in these spaces.
