One of the hardest things you can do is stop believing everything you think. And yet it is also one of the best ways to create a life you want.
The problem is that our thoughts are automatic. They are conditioned by our society, our parents, and our past, and they are validated by our experiences.
It’s really hard to stop believing them because we have seen evidence that what we think is true.
In hindsight have you noticed….
Your thoughts can take a shack and turn it into a castle.
Or they can take a ditch and turn it into an “uncrossable chasm”.
You may not realize it but this is happening all of the time in your head. It’s happening in my head. And it’s happening in your friends head.
You are not weak because of it. But it weakens you if you aren’t aware that it’s happening.
Planning what you want and where you want to go helps you to overcome yourself.
When you are determined to get somewhere, you have no choice but to keep moving forward in spite of what’s going on in your head.
The game never ends. The awareness of your thoughts never ceases to be important.
The minute you stop paying attention to your thoughts, they go haywire and you start believing them again.
Instead you need to ignore most of what you are thinking and keep moving forward anyway.
