Since having been given the advice to speak from my heart, I have been paying closer attention to where my words are coming from.
The other day, I noticed myself speaking rationally about something that was heartbreaking to me.
So I stopped and said, that’s my logical brain speaking.
Then I switched to what my heart was saying, and my voice cracked (I don’t like that part), and tears started to flow. And so did the other persons tears.
And I learned again, that if we don’t let other safe people into our pain, we cannot connect on deeper levels.
We are made to connect deeply with each other. That’s what makes life rich and fulfilling.
But we have to be so brave to let them into our pain.
We also have to be very brave when someone else lets us in, because this is a “goes both ways” kind of thing.
In these precious life changing moments, there can be no fixing, no minimizing, no speaking over top of one another, only super brave speaking, listening, and feeling.
These heart conversations will heal us. Let’s help heal one another.
