We tell ourselves stories about things are going to turn out.
We don’t actually know if things will turn out they way we suppose, we couldn’t possibly know.
But we gather up past experiences, patterns, statistics and assumptions and form a hypothesis.
In science a hypothesis is a starting point for further investigation.
In life a hypothesis can freeze us like a deer in headlights, leave us shaking in our boots or at best ruin our day.
When all we can see coming is the worst case scenario, maybe that’s the starting point for further investigation.
After all isn’t life just a series of experiments?
