It is December 1, 2019. Can you believe it?

Not only are we at the end of the year, we are at the end of a decade.

It’s been 20 years since the world was coming to an end.

Do you remember where you were and what was happening in 1999?

I got married that year and I was expecting my first baby at this time.

Neither of us had a job, we were living with a friend, not speaking with his parents, and a baby on the way.

And I didn’t see a problem with any of it. I truly believed it was all going to be wonderful. I thought in a years time we probably wouldn’t even remember any of it.

20 years later I still remember.

I look back at the girl I was back then and I love her so much. She was so beautifully naive, and in love, and optimistic about some pretty uncertain situations.

I thank the lord for her because the person I am now wouldn’t react the same way. There is no way there would have been more kids.

A lot can happen in 20 years. I’m pretty sure I’ve been 3 completely different people since then.

They say we over estimate what we can do in a year and underestimate what we can do in 10 years.

What can you do in 20 years? Looking back, it’s an awful lot, it might be worth planning for. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get there in 5…
