What if things always stayed the same?
Once you know what is possible, looking back to the way things used to be is funny. What we thought was really great at the time is nothing in comparison to what we have now.
Someone already knew that progress was possible.
They could dream of better ways, and work to make it happen.
We are all hard wired for progress.
Progress makes us feel good, and taking steps forward brings us happiness.
It’s what gives us a reason to get out of bed, it keeps our mind sharp, and brings meaning to our days.
Moving forward in life is a choice. It’s one we have to keep making over and over because when we don’t focus on progress our self talk and inner demons will take over, and we will become stuck.
Making the choice to move forward and search for progress will force you to look at some of your inner demons and come to terms with them.
Ego and self doubt will kick in and try to stop you with underlying fears or limiting beliefs.
There will be tapes running in your mind questioning you that will bring resistance to move forward. We are hard wired for progress, but we have to step into our power to bring it to life.
Deciding your opinion on a few things before you jump in will be helpful when your mental chatter starts.
Are you worthy of achieving what you want?
Are you too old/young for that?
What will people think if you become a different person in your pursuit?
What will they think if you don’t?
Who will you leave behind?
Are you deserving of it?
How hard and heartbreaking might the road be?
You will have to grapple and reckon with all these questions at different times and in different moments on your journey
You will need to wrap your brain around all of the reasons you are worthy… because you are equally as worthy as anyone else is.
You will have to allow others to live their life and continue on their journey, and if they decide to take a different path… that’s ok. They have as much agency as you do.
You will have to decide that you can do hard things… because you can.
As we find ways to progress, to evolve, and become better people, we slowly shed our fears and insecurities that chained us to the person we used to be.
We become new and better versions of ourselves. We become the person who has overcome the obstacles and achieved.
That’s why progress is so important. It helps us to become, it helps make the world a better place, and it builds a legacy.
