It’s so easy to do life when things are moving in your favour.
This weekend has been amazing for me that way.
Multiple times I have drove up as the most prime parking spot became available, I have breezed through ugly construction that should have backed me up for miles, when I got to the hotel my room wasn’t ready and they moved me into one that was perfectly located 2 doors from the elevator (and not facing the train tracks).
Everything keeps working out perfectly and I’ve been having multiple mini celebrations.
I haven’t learned one life lesson all weekend because there is nothing to figure out when things are going smoothly.
I used to believe I was living right and on the right path when things were moving in my favour and running smoothly, but I have changed my mind about that.
I don’t actually know why everything has clicked so easily into place this weekend…maybe it’s because my astrological forecast says it’s a good time for travel right now… maybe it’s just some breathing space, maybe it’s because it’s cold and I need close parking spots to not freeze into an icicle.
But it’s not because I have changed my life path for this weekend.
I was listening to a clip with Carolynn Myss and Oprah (it is 4 minutes and definitely worth listening to, click here to watch) about how you know when you are on the right path.
Oprah asks Carolynn Myss point blank at the beginning of the clip about how you know when you’re on the path.
Carolynn says, “you know you are on the right path when you are not put in a position to betray yourself.”
I have so much to say about this because it’s so profound, but for now I will let you watch the video and listen to her explanation of it.
What I will point out though is just because life is running smoothly, or maybe life is handing you a bunch of roadblocks or detours and things are difficult, it isn’t necessarily an indication that you have made a wrong or right decision or taken a wrong turn.
Maybe you need a new skill.
Maybe you need a reprieve.
Maybe you are being prepared for what’s coming later.
Whatever the reason, it’s not personal it’s just the ebb and flow of life.
What is personal is how you feel inside about it.
Are you living with integrity? Are you following what your heart is telling you? Does what you’re doing feel right?
As long as the answers to those questions are yes, then you are on the right path.
Sometimes it will be hard and you will learn all sorts of new things.
Sometimes it will be easy and you will celebrate.
Always it will feel good to keep moving forward toward the light.
That’s how you know you’re on the right path.
Are you on the right path or betraying yourself?
