For those of you who have been following, you will know I’m participating in a blog challenge. The next writing prompt is what do people thank you for?
My goodness why are these simple questions so hard for me?
People say thank you to me all day long. I clearly spend time with some very well mannered people. But I can’t imagine writing a blog post about passing a pen.
I started thinking about which thank you’s I get that light me up. Then I realized it’s not the words ‘thank-you’ that do it.
What really puts a fire in my heart is knowing I have helped to spark a change in someone else. Being given the words to say something to someone which brings them a new perspective, or assists them to find a light where they only saw darkness.
Watching that moment where the heaviness lifts and things become clear to someone is full of magic and grace.
There is no greater thank you for me than to witness a miracle happen right before my eyes.
Don’t you love those moments? The ones where ‘thank-you’ won’t do it any justice anyway?
In those moments this hard life becomes beautiful and I am the one who is thankful.
