I used to talk about following your heart a lot, and since Valentines Day just passed it has been back on my radar.
I didn’t do a love blog on Love day because I think it’s important to try to love a little more and love a little harder everyday. Not in the romance novel kind of way, but in the humanity kind of way. Please always find love for your neighbour, love for the children, and work towards loving the people who are hard to love…because they need it the most.
Valentines Day left me thinking about being aligned with what’s in your heart.
I have seen so many people who are forcing themselves to stay in jobs they don’t love and relationships they don’t want to be in, feeling trapped in a life that no longer fits who they are as a person.
When your body is in one place, and your heart longs for another it causes all sorts of crazy dysfunction and toxic behaviour patterns
It’s like living in a home and the kitchen with all of the food and drinks are across the yard. You function in the home pretty well until you’re hungry, but then you have to leave home to fill up. When guests arrive there isn’t an automatic gathering place and it’s a bit awkward. You don’t have anything to offer them without having to “check out” to get it.
Of course you can live like that, but the flow is constantly being interrupted. You have to take part in odd behaviours to feed yourself, or you might go hungry more than you should because it’s just too hard.
You might see others with kitchens inside their homes and it only amplifies how wrong your home is. No matter how great your home might be in every other way, it is always missing a kitchen and the kitchen is the heart of the home.
Keeping your life in alignment is critical to flow.
Flow is critical to forward movement.
Forward movement is critical for progress.
Progress is what makes us happy.
You’re not going to die if you’re out of alignment, but it’s worth it to start making choices that align with who you are on the inside. All of a sudden the things that aren’t working either fall into place or fall out of your life.
