I am part of a group at work who buys lottery tickets every week.
Every so often I also buy one of my own.
I imagine winning the $40,000,000.00 and wonder what my life would be like.
Spending money isn’t a driving force for me. Having more things and more stuff weighs me down and creates more work than it ever brings joy and fulfillment to my life.
I would replace what I have with new things and that would be enough.
It’s how I would spend my time that makes me wonder.
Have you thought about it?
How would you make your life matter if your purpose wasn’t to make money?
“If you were gone, would we miss you?” – Seth Godin
That is the question that helped me come out of hiding.
It changed me.
It took me out of victim thinking and gave me my power back.
Instead of wondering if anyone cared enough to miss me, it had me asking myself if what I was doing was important enough to be missed.
Whatever that thing is for you, however you would spend your time if you didn’t spend your time making money, whatever difference you want to make in the world… start doing IT now, even if it’s just a little bit.
IT’s the work that matters.
IT’s the work we need you to do.
IT’s the thing we will miss.
