Finding An Outlet For The Music Inside Of You

Because we have bills to pay and responsibilities to take care of it’s so easy to get stuck in a rut where our outside life takes over.  We get buried under the “shoulds”.

It’s so easy to get stuck under a label.  Everyone wants to label you so they know where to place you in the community.

But if you buy into the label, you become the noun and it’s easy to forget who you are.

He is a salesperson, she is a bus driver.  She is a lawyer, he is a teacher.

Except for the extraordinary ones.   I don’t think they buy into their title.
They have found a way to let their light shine without being defined by a label.

The bus driver who makes everyone’s day brighter.

The salesperson you can’t hardly resist buying from because of him, not the product.

The lawyer who loves to strategize and really digs in to the heart of your issue.

The teacher who makes a difference in the lives of kids and has a real impact on who they become.

These people have found a way to express themselves, and let their light shine through, while they do their work.

They are the people who do the thing, they are not the thing itself.

The person who writes poetry expressing herself beautifully, is more about finding a place to let out what is on the inside… than she is about becoming a poet.

Wayne Dyer said, “Don’t die with your music still in you”.

I love that.

I think when we forget who we are, we end up in a life where we can’t express it.   Even though we want to let our music out we can’t find a way or do it consistently enough to satisfy it.

But find an outlet for it, a place where your light shines … and the whole world benefits.

Especially you.
