If you aren’t sure, you can tell you are a people pleaser when you don’t do as good of a job because someone didn’t validate you the first time.

Or maybe you feel worthless if the effort you made went unnoticed.

It’s possible that you are a people pleaser if your standards are based on someone else’s approval.

But once you decide for yourself who you are and you set the standards for yourself, everything changes.

Pretty soon you don’t have to be told you’ve done a good job, you already know it. And your patience starts to wear thin with people who don’t see it or appreciate it.

The good news is you can break the people pleasing cycle by living your life in a way that pleases you.

Don’t ever let the other person control your actions or behaviour and set your own standards for excellence.

Pretty soon you will notice that your self worth doesn’t have anything to do with other people’s opinions.
